WHAT TYPE OF GREASE FOR LUBRICATING VCR MECHANISM?

I would like to lubricate the guide roller tracks and cette basket slots on my old but still functioning JVC vcrs but am not sure of which grease to use. Someone suggested white lithium grease as long as it's not petroleum based so as to be compatible with plastic parts. I have an old tube of Siloo white lithium grease (#14) but there is no mention on it of its composition. Anyone know if this product is compatible for this application? Any other product suggestions. Thanks.
