I have a 1.4 gpa in middle school?

Ok so I'm kinda flunking. I fail or get a D on every test. This mite sound bad but I text in cl chew gum talk and don't pay that much attention. I don't focus to well because I'm sick so I get blurred vision and stuff. I'm exempt from this quarter because I'm sick but I don't think the sickness has had anything to do with my grades. Should I still try? It's the last quarter and I'm exempt..... Y should I try at school? And If so how do I do better?
